MASONS BACK WITH BNT FOR NZ RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP

New Zealand's top rallying couple, Richard and Sara Mason, have confirmed their pursuit of a third NZ Rally Championship GoldStar will be with the full support of long-time partner BNT Automotive.

And, in spite of the global economic downturn, the Masterton Flyers are very pleased to welcome two new sponsors in FRAM - makers of an extensive range of air and fuel filters and related accessories - and PAGID Racing Brake Pads.

They join existing supporters Dunlop, Subaru New Zealand, B.W.O'Brien, Randall & Associates, ScottSpeed Performance Engines, Murray Coote Suspension, The PC Factory, Quality Foods and, of course, Tom's Autos.

"It is fantastic to have such loyal partners continue with us again this year," said Richard, "and to welcome FRAM and PAGID onboard, particularly with their already strong connections with BNT, makes a really neat 'fit' for us all."

This year's Vantage New Zealand Rally Championship [NZRC] will comprise five rounds and begins it's six month journey around the country with Rally Hawkes Bay in two weeks' time, on the first weekend of April.

The Masons will again mount their assault on some of the best rally roads in the country in their trademark bright yellow BNT Subaru - the same car in which they won four rounds of the NZRC last year, plus a stunning victory on the Dunlop Targa NZ at the end of last season.

"2008 was definitely a memorable season - for both good and bad reasons," said Richard.

"On the one hand we won every rally we finished in the BNT Subaru [6 in total], but those two DNF's [Did Not Finishes] at Whangarei and Hawkes Bay undoubtedly cost us the title. But that's Rallying, and is exactly what keeps bringing us back for more.

"We know we have the pace to 'Do The Business', so completing every stage in the championship is this year's primary goal.

"In other words 'Maximum Finishes' should result in 'Maximum Rewards' for us come Nelson in September."
